Mendocino Coast

Gil was on Spring Break this past week.  I was able to take Friday off and we took off for the Mendocino Coast.  We spent a long time wandering around a glass beach.  This portion of the coast was used as a garbage dump and there are all sorts of finds, especially glass.  A lot of the more brilliant colored glass shards have already been removed, but it was fun to sift through anyway.

Gil is pointing at what remains of a car that was dumped on the beach.
Saturday morning we spent at the Mendocino coast Botanical Gardens.  The magnolias and rhododendrons were in full bloom and it was beautiful to walk through the gardens.  It was a large place that went all the way to the coastline.

It was a lovely weekend and good to get away.
