I have been in Florida for almost a month now. (I also want to put a 'y' at the end and make Floriday a new day of the week.) Everything came together perfectly for this little tropical venture. I'm renting a furnished room in a furnished house. It's pretty much awesome. My room is normal sized but has a queen bed which takes up most of the room.
Take a close look at this bed. Looks like a normal bed, huh? Even down to the Kate touches of my Winnie the Pooh pillow case, must have round pillow, and frog blanket.

Take the bedding off, and the mattress looks like any other mattress, do you agree? Maybe there's a slight bit of sag, but otherwise, nothing suspicious.

What happens if you pick up the mattress though? WHOA! First, you realize it is the lightest queen mattress you have ever hefted. Second, you find the reason for this is because the mattress is basically hollow. What? What is this?

This is what's under my mattress. Those are six, 80lb tubes of water. Yes, my friends, I sleep on a quasi waterbed. This is definitely a new experience for me.

I find it a comfortable bed and I sleep well. I'm still surprised by the rocking motion from time to time and it makes me laugh when it makes a noise similar to someone who just drank a whole lot of apple juice running quickly up stairs. The only complaint is that I can't flop. I like to stand at the side of my bed and hop onto it to sit. I also highly enjoy and have mastered the art of the exhausted flop onto the mattress at the end of a long day. While this bed is soft and squishy once the sleeper is properly positioned, flopping here is similar to belly-flopping into a swimming pool. It can be painful and even cause a mild case of whiplash.
So, my bed is not as it appears and not to be approached the first time with careless abandon. I do like it, but don't think I will ever get anything like this for myself in the future. I am at times overwhelmed by its size. Queens are big beds! I have plenty of room for a friend to visit!*
