If you have ever gone hiking with me, you are most likely aware of my intense distaste of unnecessary cairns. They drive me crazy! If I come across them while hiking they are quickly demolished with great zeal and much gusto. Some of you have observed this behavior.
I've been doing a study up in Tuolumne the past month and at one of my observation sites, I ran across this.
Even more inappropriate than a cairn. However, I couldn't do it. It was art, it was talent, it was awesome! It was spared.
Two days later when I returned to continue my observations, it had been knocked down and the larger base rock had cracked in two.
